Information for repairing and working on your boat.

TRAILER FAILURE
Trailer Failure is no fun thing especially if it happens on the road with your boat on it.

To help with some of these issues I have posted what ahs happened to my trailer and what was done to fix it.

Trailers often times need more maintenance then your boat. They are always dropped in salt ware and the components are not always built to handle the saltwater environment.

One thing to help prevent deterioration of your trailer is to rinse it off well and always flush your brakes if you have a flushing system on your trailer.

Structural Failure. This is a very hard issue to solve. Looking at these pictures gives you an idea of the level of concern here. This is the front cross support beam for the bow guides and front support for rear support bunks.

The main issue here is that the aluminum has failed and is ripping due to the flex of the trailer frame. The first thing you need to accomplish is reinforcement of the support beam and then adjust where the primary weight is being supported by the trailer frame. We accomplished the first part by Welding the rip back together.
